Chris Forster our very own Chairman has just picked up two more trophies at this year's Beyond Group National exhibition. "Gaia" won the special award for best nude/figure and "Broken Dreams" scored 15 and picked up a highly commended. Both were in the colour projected images section.

Broken Dreams Gaia

The NEMPF 2010 Chesterfield Club Print Competition
.

15 clubs entered
In the first round the top 8 clubs would go through to the 2nd/final round - we came joint 7th with 119 points - got through by the skin of our teeth, on 12 prints we had selected from the exhibition.
2nd/final round we had to select 15 prints - we kept the highest ones from the first round - 6, we then took the 5 NEMPF had kept from their annual exhibition for PAGB - 5 - therefore had to find a further 4 which we had taken for a bank.
We started off really well, as did most clubs in the final round some pictures gaining a few points - however the final few we had taken from the bank dropped to 9 points each, however this was happening to other clubs too so secretly hoping not going to be too detramental. Usually in the final round they have a half way tally on the scores, however as it was so close and they thought there would be a tie, we carried straight through. So at the end we had a total of 163 points, so we improved by 44 points from the first round. Quite impressive and exciting....
As they read out the order of where the final 8 clubs had come, starting with 8th position it was tender hooks. When they got to fourth position and Rolls Royce had not been mentioned, we were all holding our breath (Chris, Geoff, Gary and me) and then after reading out 3rd position (Nottingham & Notts) Gary was finding it difficult to contain himself and let out a YES - 2nd place (Newark)

we WON............

We were all delighted and Gary proudly collected the trophy - Gary had no doubt at the start that we would be going to Connah's Quay to now represent Rolls Royce with NEMPF - this will be in October.
